Oud and trumpet – an unusual pairing, and that’s exactly the point. Egyptian oud player Aly Eissa brings his roots in classical and folk traditions, while German-Spanish trumpeter Joel Ferrando comes from the world of contemporary music and jazz. Together they perform Eissa’s compositions, sometimes closely intertwined, sometimes with plenty of space between them. Survivors of their performances highly recommend their music.
